Viber is great, it’s very similar to Whatsapp, but it’s a lot more aesthetically pleasing, and can be downloaded on a computer, which can come in handy. Calls are free from Viber user to Viber user, so if your parents are technologically skilled (and have an iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry or Nokia smartphone, or a computer), you’ll be able to call them regularly and keep in touch that way. Viber also doesn’t display ads, which is a definite bonus.

Viber is a mobile phone app that allows you to connect with friends and family for free. It's great for staying in contact with people, you can share pictures, text and talk just as you usually do, thus making you feel closer to home! I like that it's free and it works fine most of the time. I dislike that it sometimes cuts out or the quality can go bad if you have a weak signal.
